Brandon Wenerd: Founding BroBible, The Evolution of Media, and Youth Culture
New Episode Every Wednesday
Welcome to Episode 27 of the Ben & Tony Podcast, where the world’s most interesting people tell their stories!
Brandon is founding partner and publisher of BroBible.com, an independent men's entertainment and lifestyle brand with over 6 million unique visitors a month on average.
Anthony’s Take:
Reading BroBible was such a large, sentimental part of my college experience. Their fun, lighthearted humour encapsulated the youth culture of my generation and was the source of many laughs with my friends. Hearing Brandon’s story of starting BroBible, selling the company and then buying back the company was a uniquely satisfying triumph for a media entrepreneur. And with all of Brandon’s adventures in the middle--from working with people like Chrissy Teigen to Hunter S. Thompson’s widow, Anita--he has had plenty of incredible experiences. With my deepest appreciation for Brandon’s work at BroBible, this interview was an absolute delight.
Ben’s Take:
Today we were joined by none other than Brandon Wenerd, founding partner of BroBible.com. One lesser known fact about Brandon was that, at the beginning of his career, he actually spent time writing a book with Hunter S. Thompson’s widow, Anita. Fascinating to speak about that, and the impact that had on him. And then, of course, was the inception of BroBible, one of the leading publications for America’s young men. We spoke to Brandon’s sense of responsibility and stewardship that comes with writing a publication for America’s young people, what ‘bro’ means today, and how that may have changed over the years; a timely conversation around a hot button issue, with a leader in the space.
